Quack, Who Only Pulls Out Teeth

"ADAR DOCTOR” has only one cure for most ailments of the teeth. He tells most people with toothaches to get rid of their bad tooth. People, who go to his roadside stall at Kaikkartek Haat in Narayanganj's Sonargaon, often have one or two of their teeth pulled out sans anaesthesia with rusted tools. Badar Alam, the village quack, who has no education in dentistry, charges between Tk 80-200 for each “surgery”. Equipped with the hands-on training from his elder brother, he has been practising “dentistry” since 2003. The teeth he extracted over the years would weigh a total of almost 20kgs, he brags.
