'Rise High Bangladesh' at CUET

On the second day of its campus activation programme, the export idea contest "Rise High Bangladesh" reached Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) on September 14, 2017.

The daylong event created exuberance among the future engineers. The programme venue was well-decorated with banners and posters containing information about the contest.

The puzzle solving contest attracted a large crowd of students. They were required to pick a clue card with information on a country's imported goods, and they had to guess the country. Successful participants were given prizes.

One of the successful participants, Nazmus Sakib from Computer science and Engineering (CSE) Department said: “I really enjoyed the game. Now I am interested to know more about global export markets.”

CUET Career Club cooperated generously to organise the programme. “Generally, engineering students don’t feel motivated to be an entrepreneur. I must appreciate The Daily star for arranging such a campaign at CUET campus. It will definitely motivate students’ latent entrepreneurial talent”, said Md. Delwer Jahan Sohag, President of CUET Career Club.

Sahadat Hossain from Computer Science and Engineering Department said, “There is a huge opportunity of developing software and mobile apps for international companies. I am planning something in this regard.”

Vice-Chancellor of CUET, Professor Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam, welcomed this initiative. He said, "We should tap the young minds for ingenious ideas. Such initiatives definitely inspire students to contribute more positively to the nation." He also emphasized robust usage of information technology for promoting Bangladeshi products in international markets.
