Indian senior journalist, mother killed in Punjab
A former senior news editor of The Indian Express and his 92-year-old mother have been killed at their residence in Mohali in Punjab of India.
The Punjab police suspect that both KJ Singh and his mother, Gurcharan Kaur, were murdered, reports NDTV.
"There were injury marks on their necks," said Mohali Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Alam Vijay Singh.
The murder came to light around 1:00 pm when a visitor went inside the house after getting no response at the gate, according to Hindustan Times.
Police officials are trying to speed up the investigation.
Singh, who was in his sixties, had worked with many news organisations including The Tribune, The Times of India.
