The export idea contest ‘Rise High Bangladesh-session 2’ reached the highest echelon of academic excellence of Jahangirnagar University (JU) by completing its campus activation programme today (Sunday).

The Daily star and Crown Cement jointly started The Rise High Bangladesh journey last year with a view to promote fresh and innovative export ideas. After getting huge response and completing successful season it planned for second season with the same view.

As the part of the programme the Rise High Bangladesh team started the activation campaign at JU campus today (Sunday) from 9am and continued to 5pm.

They placed several booths on the campus while the main booth was set up near at Amar Ekushey Sculpture. The other three-booth were set up at Business Studies Faculty, Institute of Business Administration and Social Science and Arts and Humanities Faculty buildings while the campus premises were nicely decorated with banners and festoons with informative stories.

The students of JU were looking curiously at the events going on the campus and gathered in front of the booth, which creates an interesting moment among the students and the Rise High Volunteers.

The volunteers were seemed busy in explaining the objectives, incentives, and rules of participation. The premises were crowded all the day long with students.

Beside the informative stories, there was an interesting puzzle game too held near the booth, which attracted the students mostly. The students were required to pick a clue card with information on a country’s imported goods, and they had to guess the country. Successful participants were given prizes.

Musharraful Islam Shahid, a fourth year student of Economics department, after successfully solving a puzzle game expressed his joy, “I got a clue card containing information number-39, and I successfully recognised it as Saudi Arabia. This puzzle game motivates me to develop my geographical knowledge.”

Another winner of the game, SM Mobin Shikder, a first year student of Chemistry department

excitedly said, I am so happy getting a prize from the game. And most important part is, The Daily Star is engaging the young generations especially the students into such an economical part of our country. I think this will help the students like me to create new business ideas.

In front of booth, some JU students -Siam Kibria, Sabbir, Obadul Haque, Fazle Rabbi, Faruk, Niloy Mamun, Saiful Islam Sajib, Estiak are enjoying the game and took selfie after winning the game.

Welcoming this initiative, JU Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Amir Hussain said, “This is a good initiative, and it will create a good floor and opportunity for the business related students. The organisers have to continue these kinds of programmes every year to engage more students from different sectors like our engineering students.”
