3 top criminals held with guns in Cox’s Bazar

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today arrested three top criminals and recovered 13 firearms from their possession in a drive at Chakaria upazila of Cox's Bazar.

The arrestees Ayub Ali, 21, Md Ayaz, 22 and Abdul Hamid, 23, are said to be members of a professional criminal group in the area, our local staff correspondent reports.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Rab-7 raided Bahaltali area around 7:00am and arrested the trio from their hideout, Company Commander Maj Md Ruhul Amin told The Daily Star.  

The elite force also recovered 13 firearms including four one-shooter guns, six light guns, three sawed guns and 30 rounds of bullets from their possession, he added.
