SC upholds penalty for medical admission retake
Students sitting for a retake of medical and dental colleges this year will face a penalty of five marks with a Supreme Court ruling upholding the government decision.
A five-member bench of Appellate Division, led by acting Chief Justice Md Abdul Wahhab Miah, passed the order after hearing an appeal filed by the state.
The High Court on September 12 stayed a government decision to deduct marks from students willing to retake medical admission, an order which was frozen by Supreme Court’s chamber judge.
The medical college admission test is scheduled for October 6. For dental colleges, the admission test is scheduled for November 10.
