Mobile internet subscriptions over 7cr

After mass crackdown on unregistered connections, Bangladesh’s telecom regulator has registered a landmark in active mobile internet subscriptions across the country.

As of August, the mobile internet subscriptions stood at 7.19 crore, according to the latest report of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission published today.

According to the report, total number of active internet connections stood at 7.71 crore, with mobile internet leading the way with 93.18 percent connections in August.

However BTRC did not mentioned the 3G connections number in the report.

The report also said, by August, the total number of active mobile subscribers reached 13.93 crore, with Grameenpone having the majority – 6.31 crore – of SIM subscription.

Merged operators Robi has crossed a new milestone in this month with 4.07 crore connections, while Banglalink 3.23 crore, and Teletalk 32.34 lakh active subscriptions.
