Salman Shah’s mother demands justice
Late actor Salman Shah’s mother Nila Chowdhury today reiterated a claim that her son was killed in a planned manner and demanded justice over the murder.
She made the demand at a press conference at Chittagong Press Club. She announced to hold a rally in Chittagong city’s Muslim Hall on Saturday to voice the demand.
Reading out a written statement at the press conference, Nila said Salman Shah’s former wife Samira and her family members were involved with the murder.
She came down heavily on Public Prosecutor (PP) Abu Abdullah for not cooperating with her alleging that the prosecution has taken a stand against the victim.
Salman Shah was reportedly killed on September 6, 1996 at the age of 25. His father Kamaruddin Chowdhury has filed an unnatural death case which he later turned into a murder case.
Later, the case took a dramatic turn when one Rezvi Ahmed in a confessional statement said he has killed Salman Shah with the help of Salman's wife and mother-in-law and eight other accomplices.
Rezvi, however, later denied his confessional statement given before the police.
