7kg gold seized at Dhaka airport

Customs intelligence seized seven kilogrammes of gold from a flight at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka early today.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of customs intelligence conducted a search on a flight ‘SQ446’ of Singapore Airlines coming from Singapore after it landed at the airport last night, according to a message sent to media by custom officials.

The officials found the gold inside a consignment of imported clothes on the plane, the message reads.

The market price of the seized gold is approximately Tk 3.5 crore.
