A wheel of a domestic Dhaka-bound flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines fell off after the aircraft took off from Nilphamari's Syedpur Airport today.

However, the flight BG-494 with 66 passengers landed safely at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka around 10:30am.

The No. 4 wheel of the aircraft’s backside fell off on the runway just after it took off around 9:43am at Syedpur airport, our Nilphamari correspondent reports.

The pilot 30 minutes later successfully managed to land the airplane with his outstanding skills at the Dhaka airport, said a press release issued by Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

However, no one was hurt in the incident, Syedpur Airport Manager Shahin Ahmed said adding that it was a rare incident.

Meanwhile, a four-member body was formed to investigate the reason behind the technical glitch in the aircraft.

The probe body led by Captain Enam, deputy chief of flight safety of the airlines, was asked to submit the report within 15 days, the release added.
