New top brass for SIBL

Social Islami Bank Limited (SIBL) today named new board chairman, executive committee chairman and managing director.

Former Chittagong University vice-chancellor Anwarul Azim Arif and NRB Global Bank vice chairman Belal Ahmed were appointed as new chairman and executive committee chairman of the bank’s board respectively.

Besides, First Security Islami Bank’s additional managing director Quazi Osman Ali has been appointed managing director of the bank.

The requirements came from a board meeting of the bank held at a hotel in Dhaka today hours after former SIBL board chairman Md Rezaul Haque, its EC chairman Md Anisul Hoque and managing director Shahid Hossain resigned.

Azim, the new chairman, told The Daily Star today that he will represent Hasan Abason Ltd, a concern of S Alam Group, in the board.
