BPL ticket sale commotion sees 3 injured in Sylhet

The chaos for Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) tickets continued in Sylhet today as fans who turned up were ultimately involved in a commotion which saw three people injured.

The tickets were supposed to go on sale at 10 am in the morning and a huge crowd had gathered to collect their BPL tickets at the selling booths of the Sylhet District Stadium.

Chaos ensued when after 30 minutes or so the the ticket sale had not begun. The crowd got restless and at one point stone projectiles were thrown at the booths.

The incident saw three people injured – one female and two males. The identities of the injured people have not been confirmed as of yet. The two male victims were taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College for treatment while the female victim was given initial treatment before being sent home. The extent of their injuries are yet to be confirmed.

Gousul Alam, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said that the situation is under control now and police have been deployed in the area.

Tickets sale is currently going on although it's reportedly pretty slow.

Earlier yesterday, fans made their anger known by vandalising windows of the Sylhet District Stadium once the selling booths were closed after an hour of selling tickets for the second day's matches.
