There is no reason not to love coffee. It helps you stay awake at night when you need to meet a deadline the next morning.

It provides you the fuel to power through the office hours - at important meetings and during assignments.

It is often called upon by couples during dates, or by old friends catching up. It also has a wide array of health benefits.

The love for coffee is global. There are a few things, and areas of interest, that are common to most races and peoples.

Football is one of them. Coffee is another.

And hence, to celebrate this fervour for coffee, we have an International Coffee Day. The first official International Coffee Day.

International Coffee Organisation has declared 1 October as International Coffee Day. The day will be marked by various coffee shops holding special events, offering discounted coffees, etc. And there's more to it.

The delight your cup of coffee provides can be traced back to farmers and all those involved in the production of coffee beans. The day will also promote fair trade in the coffee industry and raise awareness about the plight of the coffee growers.

Keeping in mind the upcoming International Coffee Day, Le Meridien Dhaka has organised a very interesting event on 29 October, 2015.

The programme, which has taken place from 11am to 12pm, provided tutorials on latte art and éclair designs. The crash course has been conducted by the hotel's culinary experts.
