Moudud for caretaker govt for next polls
BNP Standing Committee Member Moudud Ahmed today called upon Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to restore the provision for caretaker government.
His call comes at a time when the BNP are calling for non-party supportive government for the next elections and the ruling Awami League remaining firm on polls under the current government.
“Khaleda Zia set up an instance by introducing caretaker government system. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina should also set an instance by restoring the provision for the sake of holding the next general election in a fair manner,” Moudud said.
Moudud said the ruling Awami League, with its two-third majority in parliament, has the power to amend the constitution and bring back the provision of caretaker government.
