Manushi Chhillar is the new Miss World

India's Manushi Chhillar won the Miss World beauty pageant for the year 2017. The win came 17 years after Priyanka Chopra brought India the coveted title in 2000. Chhillar became emotional after the crown was placed on her by Miss World 2016, Puerto Rico's Stephanie Del Valle. The twenty year-old medical student from Haryana outnumbered other contestants from England, France, Kenya and Mexico at the final round. Apart from the title, Chhillar also won the Beauty with Purpose Award. She was the winner of the Femina Miss India 2017.
