Bangladesh women's skipper Rumana Ahmed is set to join Australia's Rebel Women's Big Bash League, where she will feature for the WBBL Brisbane Heat.

The leg spinning all-rounder, who was given the Bangladesh captaincy on February this year suggested that the prospect of joining the WBBL was a significant prospect, Brisbaneheat.com.au reported.

Rumana suggested that she was looking forward to playing in the only franchise based tournament for women cricketers. "The WBBL is the only franchisee-based tournament for women and is very competitive,'' she said.

"Every women cricketer wants to be a part of it. The coverage of the event will be worldwide and that's a big incentive. This experience is bound to make me a better all-round professional and player."

In September 2016, Rumana became the first Bangladeshi woman to bag a hattick in International cricket. She achieved the feat against Ireland in the series decider to help Bangladesh win.

The T20 tournament, which is set for it's third edition will begin on December 9. Ruman will join the Brisbane Heat from January 10.
