2 killed in Gazipur road crash

Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a covered van on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Gazipur this morning.

Identities of the deceased, aged between 28 to 30 years, could not be known immediately, reports our Gazipur correspondent.

The victims died on the spot when a bus collided with a Tangail bound covered van on the highway at Bypass intersection around 6:15am, said Bahar Alam, a sub-inspector of Naojor highway police outpost.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police seized both the vehicles later.
