PM releases postage stamp on Victory Day

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today released a commemorative postage stamp, a first-day cover and a data card marking the country's 47th Victory Day.

She released the commemorative postage materials -- Tk 10 stamp, Tk 10 first day cover and Tk 5 data card issued by Bangladesh Post Office -- at her official residence Ganobhaban using special cancellers.

State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Tarana Halim, SDG Affairs Principal Coordinator of the Prime Minister's Office Abul Kalam Azad, PMO Senior Secretary Suraiya Begum, Military Secretary to the Prime Minister Major Gen Mia Md Jainul Abedin, Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Shyam Sundar Sikder, PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim and Director General of the Postal Directorate Sushanto Kumar Mondal were present.

The postal stamps, first day covers and data cards will be put on sale at philatelic bureau of Dhaka GPO from today while these will be available in other post offices later, officials said.
