Gayle doubtful for second ODI
Chris Gayle is doubtful for the second ODI against New Zealand after he was unable to field during the Black Caps innings due to suffering from an illness.
ESPNcricinfo quoted coach Stuart Law as saying: “He took ill. He's going to seek further medical advice once we arrive in Christchurch tomorrow. At this point in time I can't give you any further details of what's going on.”
Law said that he is unable to divulge any more information regarding Gayle’s illness but suggested that a full appraisal is due tomorrow.
The left-hander struck a 69-ball 146 in the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) but could not quite deliver in the same manner he was removed for 22 runs.
West Indies struggled to 248-9 and New Zealand overhauled that total with five wickets in hand.
