Khaleda’s legal notice to PM not appropriate: Muhith

Finance Minister AMA Muhith today said it was not appropriate for BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to send a legal notice to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The prime minister has surely enough valid evidences regarding the allegation of BNP chief and her family members’ assets and investments in Saudi Arabia, he said.

On December 7, Hasina, also president of the ruling Awami League, at a press conference in Gono Bhaban, expressed displeasure that the mainstream media did not run any report on the BNP chief and her family members’ reported assets and investments in Saudi Arabia and other countries.

The minister came up the remarks while talking to reporters after he inaugurated a mural of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Sylhet Agriculture University (SAU).

It will be proved that Khaleda Zia has property in Saudi Arabia, said the minister.

“This is a legal process, lawyers will respond it accordingly,” Muhith said while replying to a query.

Khaleda on December 20 served a legal notice on the premier, seeking an apology from her for making “malicious and defamatory” remarks about her alleged assets abroad.
