Pass rate falls by 3.33pc in primary exams

A total of 95.18 percent students have passed this year’s primary terminal examination, which is 3.33 percentage points lower than that of last year.

A total of 26, 96, 216 students appeared for the examinations. Of them, 25,66, 271 came out successful with 2,62,609 obtaining GPA-5. Amon the seven divisions, Barisal saw the highest pass rate 96.22 percent. 

In the Ebtedayee terminal examinations this year, 2,58,399 students appeared for the test, out of which 2,36,444 emerged successful. The pass rate was 92.94 with 5,023 achieving GPA-5.

Out of all the seven, Rajshahi became the leading division with pass rate 96.28 percent while Sylhet has the lowest pass rate of 86.92 percent.

The examinees can get their results from their respective schools.

Besides, primary students can get their results on the websites of Directorate of Primary Education (DPE): www.dpe.gov.bd. Student can also get their results via short messaging service (SMS).

Over 30 lakh fifth graders attended the Primary School Certificate (PSC). Of them, 28,04,509 were from primary schools while 2,91,566 from madrasas. The exams ended on November 26.
