‘Human trafficking ringleader’ held in Teknaf

Law enforcers today claimed arrest of an international human trafficking gang’s ringleader in Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar.

The arrestee was identified as Md Hashem Prokash Poa Majhi, 46, reports our Cox’s Bazar correspondent quoting police.

Acting on tip-off, cops from Teknaf Model Police Station raided Pandelpara village of Sabrang union of the upazila and arrested him around 2:30pm, said Ataur Rahman Khandakar, officer-in-charge of the police station.

Involved in international trafficking gang for a long time, Hashem faced seven different charges of human trafficking, the OC said.
