Worker killed in Gazipur under-construction site

A worker died and seven others were injured after the roof of an under-construction building collapsed in Shreepur upazila of Gazipur today.

The deceased was identified as Farkir Ali, 23, son of Abul Kashem from Jamalpur, reports our Gazipur correspondent.

A part of the two-storey under-construction building collapsed in Faugan area around 12:30pm, said Ijjat Ali Khan, a union parishad member of the upazila.

On information, a fire brigade team rushed to the spot and recovered the body of the worker from under the debris, said Akhter Jaman, deputy assistant director of Gazipur Fire Service Station.     

The others were taken to different hospitals.
