Bangladesh Protidin editor, publisher get bail in defamation case

The High Court today granted an anticipatory bail to Bangla daily Bangladesh Protidin Editor Naem Nizam and its Publisher Moynal Hossain Chowdhury in a defamation case.

Lalmonirhat Awami League President and former state minister for primary and mass education Motahar Hossain filed the defamation case with a local court for running a report against him in the newspaper on April 2014.

Today, the HC bench of Justice Obaidul Hassan and Justice Krishna Debnath granted the bail after hearing petitions filed by Naem and Moynal seeking bail in the case.

The accused journalists appeared before the HC bench today.
