36 killed in Murshidabad bus crash
Bus falls into river breaking the railings of a bridge
At least 36 people were killed and 22 others injured as a bus plunged into a river breaking the railing of a bridge in Murshidabad of West Bengal today.
The bus of West Bengal transport service "Nigam" crashed into Daulatabad bridge on Bahrampur-Domkol road and fell into the river around 6:00 am while it was heading towards Nadia from Karimpur, reports our local correspondent quoting witnesses.
The witnesses also said the dense fog might be the reason of the accident.
Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, visited the spot to oversee the rescue operations.
She also assured of financial support to the victims and their families.
