Liton strikes unbeaten 143 to down Kalabagan
Liton Das struck a fantastic 143 off 123 deliveries as Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club defeated Kalabagan Krira Chakra by eight wickets in the Dhaka Premier League match at Savar today.
Having won the toss, Prime Doleshwar opted to field first and Kalabagan managed to post 290 runs for the loss of four wickets thanks to Mohammad Ashraful's 131-ball 104 and Taibur Rahman's 109-ball 114.
However, Liton's stormy knock, which contained 14 fours and three sixes took the game away from Kalabagan. Liton was ably supported by Marshal Ayub, who struck 91 off 73 deliveries as both batsman remained unbeaten to see Prime Doleshwar coast to victory with eight wickets and five overs to spare.
In the other match played at BKSP, Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity defeated Gazi Group Cricketers by five wickets following half centuries from Mahidul Islam Ankon and Al Menaria. Mahidul fell after a 109-ball 85 while Menaria struck 51 off 50 balls. Batting first Gazi Group posted 247 on the board for the loss of five wickets thanks to a Jahurul Islam's ton.
At Fatullah, Saif Hassan struck a 132-ball 108 to lead Abahani Limited to a 136-run victory over Brothers Union.
Sent in to bat first, Abahani were all out for 266 in their 50 overs before they bowled out Brothers Union for 130 runs. Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Sunzamul Islam bagged three wickets each for Abahani.
