International Mother Language Day Special by Pran Milk & The Daily Star
In 1952, many young people of Bangladesh took their voices to the streets of Dhaka, protesting with all their might to prevent the imposition of Urdu as our mother tongue. They selflessly sacrificed themselves to bring us our language, Bangla, and our national identity and culture. Our martyrs were brave and invincible, and it should inspire us all to be more courageous, determined, and liberal.
With this purpose, The Daily Star & Pran Milk brings a quiz competition on the occasion of the International Mother Language Day to encourage our readers to test their knowledge, and learn more about the history of our Language Movement.
