Lankans want to continue momentum
Sri Lanka have the mental edge over the Tigers ahead of the first T20 against Bangladesh tomorrow and their T20 skipper Upul Tharanga suggested that they are looking to keep the momentum going.
"We have done well, firstly the one-day series and then Test series, so we have the confidence. We have the momentum and we want to carry on with the momentum," the Lankan skipper said.
Tharanga also hoped that they will get a good wicket for the upcoming T20s and also said that the Lankan team has some ideas on the new faces in the Bangladesh squad.
"A few of our players have played in the BPL and we saw some of the new faces doing well in that competition. We have seen videos of them and so yeah, we have some idea on them," Tharanga confirmed when asked if they are going to step into the T20 series overlooking the fact that Bangladesh have a few new faces in the squad.
Lastly, the captain reiterated that the T20 series is important to them and also agreed with Thisara Perera, who earlier said that the Lankans were the favourites in the T20 series.
"This series is very important for us as we were not consistent in the last one and a half or two years. We got the momentum from the one-day series so I think we are to continue that.
"Our confidence is high so yeah I agree," the skipper concluded.
