BNP ex-women MPs denied permission to meet Khaleda
Some former female lawmakers of BNP were denied to meet their party Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who is now in jail after conviction in charges of Tk 2.10 crore graft.
Around 50 female BNP leaders including Shirin Sultana, Papia Akhter, Rehana Akhter Banu and BilkisJahan went to meet Khaleda at Nazimuddin Road, Dhaka today.
They were denied to meet the former prime minister in jail, according to what Shirin Sultana told The Daily Star. “We submitted an application to the jail authorities around 11:45am to meet Khaleda but they did not allow us.”
Khaleda has been serving jail since February 8 following a Dhaka court verdict in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.She was sentenced to five years imprisonment in the corruption case.
