‘Smuggler’ killed in Benapole ‘gunfight’
An alleged smuggler was killed in a “gunfight” between members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and smugglers in Daulatpur frontier in Benapole early today.
The deceased Ibrahim Hossain, 26, son of Yakub Hossain, a resident of Khoridanga village, , our Benapole correspondent reports quoting law enforcers.

The firing prompted BGB to retaliate, triggering the gunfight, leaving Ibrahim dead on the spot, the BGB official said.
On information, police recovered the body from the spot in the morning and sent it to Jessore Medical College Hospital, said Firoz Uddin, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Benapole Port Police Station.
A pistol and 300 pieces of smuggled clothes were recovered from the spot, BGB said.
