Children of freedom fighters formed a human chain in front of Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka today in favour of the existing 30 percent quota for them in government jobs.

After forming the human chain, they brought out a procession from the press club and ended at Shahbagh around 12noon.

The children under the banner of the central committee of “Muktijoddha Sangsad Santan Command” protested an ongoing movement by the students of different universities and colleges over reformation of the existing quota system in Bangladesh Civil Service and other government recruitment process.

Mehedi Hasan, president of the association, said, “It’s a conspiracy. It’s Jamaat-Shibir activists who have been staging demonstration demanding reformation of the quota system under the banner of the general students”.

“This movement is not for the reformation of the quota system, this is a movement against the incumbent government,” he said.
