Break-up: the hard- learned lessons
Breakups are heart breaking and the worst. We get it. We have been there but today we will not be talking about how empty it feels, rather we are going to face it and talk about it. When we talk about it, we will not be empathetic, oh no, we will be brutal because we want you get up on your feet and sort life out. When your partner leaves you or even if you come to a mutual understanding of how your relationship just won't work out, it is the worst. It might feel like the end of the world, but it is not. However, we will not tell you to not cry. You should cry. You should wreck yourself for a week or two but not more than that. He or she was not perfect for you to cry the whole of your life away!
People will empathise with you, console you and maybe call you, but you do not need to tell everyone what happened or why it ended because not everyone should get the access to your relationship details. Pick a few people to talk to and stick with them.
Many times, distracting yourself is a great way and there is no greater way than to binge-watch comedy series or just asking your cousin who lives abroad for their Netflix account. Within a week you realise that you might be the biggest binge-watcher of all time. However, do not just stick to ice cream, chips and the screen because we know you have not showered for a day or two and you really need to! I mean who are we kidding?
There is no way on earth you should let your ex call you back to "check up on you" even if they mean the greatest things for you. You do not need that in your life and you will never need it. Do not pick up the phone. Haven't your heard of Dua Lipa already? If you have not, add that to your play list. It is the prime time and you will know what I am talking about!
Last but not the least, you are a beautiful human being and you do not need anyone but yourself because at the end of the day, it is you who will face yourself in the mirror every day and it is you who will miss opportunities if you don't get back up on your feet. No one is telling you to turn into Taylor Swift of course, but you can be the best version of yourself if you are patient, kind and thoughtful to yourself. You will not believe it now, but someday you will find the love of your life and even if you do not, it really does not matter because life is too short. It really is. So, leave that packet of chips soon and work on the crunches, close the tab to Instagram and open your slides to study, and most importantly, get off your bed already!
