A youth was killed allegedly by his father and brother in Azimpur of Dhaka tonight.

The deceased was identified as Shaheen Islam, 25, son of Nurul Islam of New Paltan in Azimpur, said sub-inspector Bachchu Mia, also in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp, told The Daily Star.

Shaheen, a “drug addict”, had an altercation with his father at their home around 10:15pm as he wanted some money from his father for buying drugs, said Bachchu Mia quoting locals.

When Shaheen tried to attack his father failing to get the money, Nurul and another son stabbed him with sharp weapons indiscriminately, leaving him injured critically.

He was rushed to the DMCH where doctors declared him dead around 11:00pm, added the police official.
