2 killed in Cox’s Bazar fire

Two cousins were killed as a fire ripped through three houses in Sadar upazila of Cox’s Bazar this afternoon.

The victims were identified as Md Abdullah, 15, and his nephew Md Shahriar, 8, our Cox’s Bazar staff correspondent reports quoting police.

The two came to their relatives’ house in Bhomoriya Ghona village when the fire broke out around 3:00pm, said Mihnaz Mahmud Bhuiya, officer in-charge (OC) of Idgah Police Station.

The fire might have originated from a mosquito coil, the OC also said.

At least three houses were gutted in the fire, the police official said adding that Tk 10,000 was given to the victims’ families by local administration.
