Minister’s illness postpones RU 10th convocation

The 10th convocation of Rajshahi University that was scheduled to be held on March 24 was postponed today due to the illness of Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid.

The authorities will announce a fresh date after talking to President Abdul Hamid, our RU correspondent reports quoting Public Relations office Adminstrator Probhash Kumar.

President Abdul Hamid is also the chancellor of the institution.

On February 3 this year, the date for the 10th convocation was fixed for March 24.

The confirmation came after more than one year of online registration for the convocation in 2016.

The university administration opened the online registration process on November 3, 2016 setting the deadline on November 30 only for those who earned their masters, MBBS, BDS, MPhil and PhD degrees between 2011 and 2014.

The registration fee was fixed at Tk 3,570, which created discontent among the graduates.
