A nerve-wrenching situation was created after a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines was alarmed by the air traffic control of London that there might be terrorists and explosives inside BG-202.

The Sylhet-bound plane of Biman Bangladesh Airlines left London Heathrow Airport at 6:56pm local time on Wednesday. While it was flying over Frankfurt of Germany, the captain was cautioned that there is a possible threat of bombs and terrorists inside the aircraft.

The captain informed the senior Biman officials of the development through ATC. As the aircraft crew informed the matter to the airport authorities, law enforcers surrounded the aircraft upon its landing at Sylhet MAG Osmani International Airport at 10:25am, said Biman's General Manager (public relations) Shakil Meraj.

Law enforcers conducted massive search but no such threats were found. A dog squad of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) also searched the passengers.

Then the aircraft left Sylhet at 1:50pm and landed at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 2:05pm, he said.

Wing Commander, Ziaul Kabir, director flight safety of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), said they came to know about such information which was baseless.
