BNP standing committee member Moudud Ahmed today criticised the government on “moral grounds”.

“They (government) have no morality. They are saying it wants BNP in the election, and at the same time, not allowing it to hold rallies,” he said. “We are being denied even the minimum level of rights.”

Speaking at a discussion at Jatiya Press Club, Moudud alleged: "They do not want a participatory election. They do not want BNP to participate in the election. Because BNP is their greatest opposition".

Moudud also accused the government of trying to weaken the BNP in the grassroots level.

“We want to say. There will be no gain in creating a false opposition. BNP is the only party with the power to win and get elected to power through an election.”
