Thank you for your time! Could you tell us about your recent projects?

Besides doing live shows, I am working on my full-fledged solo album. I used to upload demos of my music on Soundcloud, but now I do my originals at live shows. You will hopefully get to listen to the album very soon.

What got you into music?

My mother used to sing to me when I was kid, and I think that is where I started taking interest in music. I was enrolled in a music school where I learned eastern classical and Nazrulgiti.

Name some of your favorite musicians.

Since I don't believe in dividing music by genres, I listen to a vast array of songs starting from indie to folk and psychedelic rock songs. I started off listening to classic bands such as The Beatles, Dire Straights, Scorpions and Pink Floyd. When it comes to Bengali songs, I love Artcell, Black and Arbovirus. I am a huge fan of Meghdol, I think they're pretty underrated. There is a special place for indie music in my heart, so Death Cab for Cutie, Iron and Wine, Beirut, Re La Montage, Damien Rice and Daughter are all my jams.

Potato! (Laughs)

What is the hardest part about being a musician in Bangladesh?

The hardest thing about being a musician is being a full-time musician in this country. You can't concentrate 100% on music here, as being a musician isn't even considered a real profession. It's a shame, really. However, I am hopeful that things will change somewhere down the line.

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

With my own album and rich enough to afford my own studio! (Laughs)
