Jubo League activist murdered in Natore

A local activist of ruling Awami League’s youth front has been murdered in Natore town.

Saiful Islam Ripon, 35, a Jubo League activist and son of Sayed Sheikh, was stabbed indiscriminately near Natore Central Mosque at Kanaikhali around 11:00pm last night, our local correspondent reports.

Ripon was attacked with sharp weapons, Rafiqul Islam Babu, president of Ward 4 Jubo League, said. Locals rushed him to Natore Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Babu claimed Ripon as a member of his Jubo League unit.

Shahidul Islam, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Natore Sadar Police, said, there has been no arrests in this regard and no case filed. The motive of the murder is yet to be ascertained.

It is to be noted, previously on March 18, another local Jubo League leader Imran Ali was murdered at the same spot Ripon was attacked.
