SC releases full text of ruling against Khaleda’s bail

The Supreme Court today released full text of its order that stayed the bail granted to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case;the lawsuit that put her behind bars after conviction.

In the six-page order, the apex court said it found merit in the arguments placed by the Anti-Corruption Commission and the state, in their leave to appeal petitions, filed against the High Court bail order.

Following the leave to appeal petitions filed by the ACC and government, the apex court, on March 19, stayed the four-month bail order for Khaleda Zia.
