The Counseling Unit of BRAC University hosted a seminar on parenting with the theme "Parenting with Mutual Respect and Trust" at the university's Mohakhali campus auditorium in the capital on March 31, 2018. 

Around 150 students and parents attended the seminar, the main objective of which was to promote a healthy parent-child relationship based on empathetic understanding.

Shami Suhrid Coordinator, psychosocial counselor and lecturer of Counseling Unit, gave a brief outline of the unit's activities. Afterwards, Prof. Mehtab Khanam, the unit's adviser and chairperson of the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology at the University of Dhaka, initiated a views-exchange on barriers the participants faced when communicating with one another.

The participants lauded the seminar's insights and expressed the need for more to be organised.
