Stone Extraction: 2 workers killed in Sunamganj

Two female stone collectors were killed in a pit when sand piled around the pit collapsed on them in Dolua area of Sunamganj yesterday.

The deceased were identified as Aleka Begum,40, of Guchogram village, and Rohima Begum, 31, of Fenibeel village in the Sadar upazila.

Quoting locals, Additional Police Superintendent of Sunamganj Mohammad Habibullah said the workers were buried under sand and debris near Cholti river around 11:00am.

Police recovered the bodies later.
