2 ‘robbers’ beaten dead in Brahmanbaria
Two suspected robbers were beaten to death by a mob when they were fleeing after committing a robbery in Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria early today.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Majibar Rahman, a sub-inspector of Kasba Police Station, said a gang of robbers stormed into the house of Jamir Miah at Leshiara village around 2:00am.
The bandits looted valuables after taking the family members hostage at gunpoint.
Hearing hue and cry, locals rushed in and managed to catch the duo when the gang was attempting to flee.
The locals beat the two robbers, leaving them dead on the spot while the other burglars managed to escape.
On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The law enforcers also recovered the looted valuables.
