Road management not responsible for Rajib's death: Quader
Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader today said the road management was not responsible for the accident in which Rajib Hossain, a student of Dhaka's Titumir College, lost his right hand and eventually succumbed to his injuries.
"Whether the condition of road is good or bad, it has no link to the incident. Those who were driving the vehicles and the passengers were responsible. Even it might have happened for the boy's (Rajib) mistake," Quader said.
The minister said this while inspecting a mobile court of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) at Dhaka's Hatirjheel this morning.
"The boy lost his hand. I saw an important newspaper published a report holding road management responsible for the incident. How is road management relevant to this?" Quader said.
When asked who he would blame for the incident, the minister said awareness among the drivers is necessary in this context, adding that road management has nothing to do with this.
