Class-II student dies as school wall collapses in Pabna
A primary student died and four others were injured as a boundary wall of their school fell on them in Pabna this morning.
Deceased Afrin was a class two student of Shibrampur Model Govt Primary School in Shibrampur area of Pabna municipality, our district correspondent reports.
The incident took place around 9:15am when the students were entering the school, the correspondent reports quoting the school’s headmaster Enamul Haque Siddique.
The wall fell towards outside as a sand-laden truck, which was inside the boundary of the under-construction school, hit the wall accidentally leaving five of the school students injured, Enamul said.
Among the injured, four -- Imran, Alamin, Afrin and Akhlima -- were taken to Pabna General Hospital from where Afrin was shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital as her condition deteriorated.
Afrin breathed her last at the hospital around 3:00pm, Obaidul Haque, officer-in-Charge of Pabna Sadar Police Station, told our Pabna correspondent.
The three injured are the students of class three and four of the school.
