'Govt must take responsibility if Khaleda’s health deteriorates'

The government will have to take full responsibility if BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s health deteriorates, the party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said today.

"There is still time to release Khaleda and facilitate her treatment at a hospital with a physician of her choosing,” Fakhrul said when he was addressing a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan headquarters.

“Instead of doing dirty politics in this matter, release her (Khaleda Zia) and ensure her proper treatment,” Fakhrul said.

Khaleda’s family and party members have not been able to meet her for the last ten days thus increasing worry about her health condition even more, he said.
