For the seventh consecutive day today, a group of Jahangirnagar University (JU) teachers demonstrated at campus protesting “assault” on their fellow colleagues.

Around 70 teachers took position in near the administrative building with black flags for an hour from 11:00am demanding punishment of the other faction of teachers who allegedly assaulted their fellows.

Meanwhile, the classes and examinations were held amid the protest, reports our JU correspondent from the campus.

Prof Farid Ahmed, a teacher of philosophy department, said during the demonstration they will stage a sit-in at the same place for two hours tomorrow.

They also have been demonstrating in demand of removal of the university’s proctorial body.

In the first place, the teachers were protesting the violation of the university acts and statutes by the current Vice Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam.

They also rejected the committee formed to investigate the alleged attack incident on the campus and demanded for a judicial inquiry.
