Majid returns to complete double century
Abdul Majid, who was retired hurt yesterday after notching 159 off 181 deliveries, returned to bat today and completed a double hundred as Central Zone reached 546 in the first innings against East Zone in the sixth and final round of the Bangladesh Cricket League.
Following a muscle strain, Majid retired hurt but today he managed to convert his 159 to a double hundred with some big shots. Majid was in a hurry and he completed his double ton with a six and four to reach his target in the last over before lunch.
There was uncertainty that the right-hander will manage to reach his double ton after Central lost Shuvagata Hom and Irfan Shukkur in the space of three overs. However, following a brilliant eighth-wicket 76-run stand with Mohammad Sharif, Majid managed to complete his second first-class double century. Majid eventually fell after a 246-ball 205, an innings that contained 22 fours and eight sixes.
