Fizz congratulates Shakib on reaching milestone
Bangladesh's left-arm paceman Mustafizur Rahman is having a topsy-turvy Indian Premier League tournament with his new team as Mumbai Indians lost yet another match – their fifth in six matches, this time to Shakib Al Hasan's Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The Fizz was Mumbai's most economic bowler yesterday going at 4.90 per over and picking up a wicket in the process. The Cuttermaster generally maintained good line and managed to bowl 12 dot balls as Mumbai bowled out Sunrisers for only 118.
Mumbai's batting problems once again came into sharp focus as they bundled for just 87 with Shakib Al Hasan picking up the all-important wicket of Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma – a wicket that handed Shakib his 300th wicket in T20 format.
Shakib became the first left-armer to achieve the feat and also became the fifth player in the history of T20 cricket to take 300 wickets.
Shakib also became only the second player to score over 4000 runs and scalp 300 wickets in T20 cricket. Dwayne Bravo is the only other cricketer on that list with 5,607 runs and 417 wickets. Bravo, now 34 has featured in 380 T20s while Shakib played his 260th match yesterday.
While Mustafizur was disappointed by yet another Mumbai defeat, he nevertheless congratulated Bangladesh's T20 captain on reaching the double landmark.
It was another tough day on the field but feeling great for @Sah75official bhai as he becomes the first ever left arm spinner to take 300 T20 wickets & for reaching in unique feat for scoring 4,000 runs & picking as the second all-rounder. Keep it up. #Blessed pic.twitter.com/7I3ARXjqpM; Mustafizur Rahman (@Mustafiz90) April 24, 2018
