2 sisters die of ‘food poisoning’
Two sisters died and their mother felt ill after having “poisonous food item” in Pekua upazila of Cox’s Bazar last night.
Deceased Minzila Akter Mahi, 8, a student of MS Public School, and Sanzida Akter Mili, 3, are daughters of Mizanur Rahman of Mehernama village in the upazila, said Md Abdur Rakib, officer-in-charge of Pekua Police Station.
Yeasmin Akter, mother of the deceased, has been admitted to the Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH), our Cox’s Bazar correspondent reports quoting the OC.
The trio felt sick after eating biriyani brought by Mizanur from a restaurant last night.
They were rushed to a local hospital but Mili died on the way. Later, Mahi and her mother were shifted to CMCH where Mahi was declared dead, the police official said.
Quoting doctors of CMCH, the OC said Mahi died due to food poisoning.
